On November 1st, 2023, PALS Adult Services Society (PASS) held a grand opening to introduce PASS Burnaby, our new facility, to supporters.

The new Burnaby location is a direct response to the surging demand for PASS' services. It will enable even more adults with autism and other neuro-developmental disabilities to participate in skills training, employment opportunities, and music and speech-language therapies.

“This is a very special day for special young adults who are now able to plan for the next stages of their life thanks to the work everyone has done together here,” said Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley, who was presented with artwork created by PASS program members.

Attendees also heard from PASS program member Casey Maltman and her parents, Cindy and Stewart Maltman. Prior to the opening of PASS Burnaby, Casey had an hour’s commute to the Vancouver location. Now, she attends PASS Burnaby, which is within a ten-minute distance.

We are so grateful to our donors, contractors, volunteers, board and staff, and PASS parents and members who came together to make this expansion a reality—special thanks to The Y.P. Heung Foundation and The Morris and Helen Belkin Foundation for their funding contributions.
